From March 7th to May 4th Valka Local History Museum will be hosting an exhibition of works by Valka Municipality’s artists called “Fantasy Toys”.
This year, 42 artists connected with Valka region are participating in the exhibition. Several of the authors currently live and work in Valka, others – in different cities around Latvia. The exhibition is attended by both professional and non-professional artists who are close to art. Seven authors in the exhibition are participating for the first time.
The title of the exhibition “Fantasy Games” allowed artists to play around with subjects, colours, shapes and techniques. Authors have expressed their fantasies in various artistic genres – painting, photography, ceramics, wood sculpture, collages, textiles, etc.
Since 1994, the Valka Local History Museum has regularly exhibited works by local artists. Exhibitions have become an integral part of the cultural life of Valka Municipality.
The exhibition is open until 4th of May
Mondays – Fridays at 10:00 – 17:00;
Saturdays at 10:00 – 16:00
Entrance fee into the exhibition: 0,75 €;
For pensioners, students, schoolchildren: 0,30 €
Admission to the exhibition is free for students of Valka Municipality’s educational institutions.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition may be photographed and/or filmed. The resulting material may be used for publicity purposes.
